Seize The Day is one of the Avenged Sevenfold songs from their third album, "City of Evil," released on July 27, 2010. The song with five minutes duration has so much meaning in its song. Avenged Sevenfold had a metal-core genre before they released the "City of Evil" album. This is one of the reasons why this song is heard more melodic and ballad because they changed their genre.

When the first time you hear the tone, you will probably feel sorrowful and miserable. The song brings you into the affair when you have someone you love, but the reality hits you is that nothing lasts forever. The reason why I chose this song as my object is that Seize The Day is my most favorite song from Avenged Sevenfold. Also, the meaning in its song reminds me of how lonely we are in our life, living alone without someone we love. The title of the song gives half of the meaning inside. If we hear the title of this song, we might think if this song is about life, but we do not know what kind of life is. That is why I want to analyze Seize The Day's song.

I highlighted the important keywords of this song already, such as lost, empty, cold, burn, fade, stay, holding, regretting, stuck, and real. It sounds like Matthew wanting the listener to feel how worst losing someone we loved. When you know that we live in this temporal world full of something we cannot predict since life is unpredictable and full of surprises, he feels empty, regretful, and lost right after he left his significant other alone. He did not take any action and even lost everything he had.

We need to decide what amused us and is worthy of doing. As long as we never waste time with useless things, it would be better to spend our time with someone we love before it is too late. I think the following line in the first chorus also tells about how he felt and he was lost, lonely, and the memories faded as long as the time flew hastily.

This is why, after you fretting all the things above, it comes the moment in the lyrics, "Please tell me what we have is real." somehow, we are all afraid of losing someone we loved and wanting all of the moments that we spent was real. That is not even a secret anymore.

"Silence, you lost me, no chance for one more day. I'm stuck here alone." In this part, Matthew wants to tell us something, the "silence" word means if she could not do anything when you left her. Deep inside her heart, she might not want to be left, but she could not do anything. The following line means that you have passed away and could not bring the time back, or you have left her because you did something wrong in the past. You could not predict the bad side of something that you have done, so you have no chance to get back until you get stuck somewhere.

In my opinion, this song is totally about regret and afraid of losing someone we love since we do not have much time to live in this temporal world. Besides that, we need to organize our time well with doing any good action rather than spending time to do harmful action. How precious our short time is one of the reasons why we need to organize it well. Avenged Sevenfold wrapped this song into wonderful lyrics inside with the ballad tone as the extraordinary fusion as its song.
